Sada Mone Kada Nei Bengali t-shirt in black, regular unisex fit

Bengali T-Shirt Size Guide: How to Choose the Right Fit (and Make It Last)

Most wrong-size orders happen for one simple reason: people guess. They order the size they wore last time, from a different brand, and every brand cuts a little differently. Two minutes with a measuring tape (or even a ruler) solves that.

This guide covers how our tees are sized, how to measure, how to choose between fits, and how to look after a printed cotton t-shirt so the print outlives your college years.

Our adult sizes

Our regular t-shirts are unisex and sized by chest measurement in inches. Most designs come in:

Size Chest (inches)
S 36
M 38
L 40
XL 42
XXL 44
3XL 46
4XL 48

Sizes can vary by about half an inch either way, and not every design is available in every size, so always check the product page before ordering.

How to measure (the easy way)

The most reliable method doesn't involve measuring your body at all. Measure a t-shirt you already love wearing.

  1. Lay the t-shirt flat on a bed or table and smooth out the wrinkles.
  2. Measure straight across the chest, from one armpit seam to the other.
  3. Double that number. That's your t-shirt's chest size.
  4. Pick the size on our chart closest to it. If you're between two sizes, go by how you like to wear it: smaller for a neater fit, bigger for a relaxed one.

If you'd rather measure yourself, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms, keeping it level and not too tight. Then add 2 to 3 inches for a comfortable regular fit.

Regular, oversized or full sleeve?

Regular fit

Most of our Bengali t-shirts are regular unisex fit: straight through the body, not tight, not baggy. This is the safest choice for gifts and for people who wear their tees everywhere, from adda to office Fridays.

Oversized

Oversized tees are cut wider and longer, with dropped shoulders. Order your usual size and the oversize cut does the rest. Don't size up on top of an oversized cut unless you want it to look like a dress. Try the Oversize Kolkata or the Oversize Swarabarna if you like the look.

Full sleeve

Our full sleeve t-shirts follow the same chest sizes as regular tees. If you plan to wear one over a thin inner layer in winter, consider one size up.

A note for women

Since our tees are unisex, women who prefer a closer fit usually choose one size down from their usual unisex size. If you like your t-shirts loose and comfortable, stay with your usual size. When you're unsure, the flat-measure method above always works.

Couple t-shirts

Our couple t-shirts come as a set of two, and you choose each size separately. Measure one tee from each of you, and you won't have to swap at the last minute.

Kids sizes

Our kids t-shirts cover roughly 1 to 12 years. Depending on the design, sizes are listed by age (like 3 to 4 years) or by chest width in inches (like 24 or 26 inches). Children grow fast, so if you're in between, choose the bigger one. A loose tee gets worn; a tight one doesn't.

How to wash a printed cotton t-shirt

Our tees are 100% cotton, bio-washed and pre-shrunk, so they hold their size well. The print lasts much longer if you follow a few simple habits:

  • Turn it inside out before washing. This protects the print from rubbing against other clothes.
  • Use cold water. Hot water fades colours and weakens prints faster.
  • Machine wash or hand wash both work. Use a gentle cycle in the machine.
  • No bleach, even on white tees.
  • Don't scrub the print with a brush. If there's a stain, soak it and rub gently around it.
  • Dry in the shade. Strong Kolkata sun is wonderful for pickles and terrible for printed fabric colours.
  • Iron inside out, and never iron directly on the print.

One more tip from experience: wash new dark tees separately for the first couple of washes. Most of our dyes are stable, but it's a good habit with any dark cotton.

Removing common stains

  • Haldi: rinse in cold water as soon as possible, then wash with regular detergent. Sunlight fades leftover turmeric stains on white cotton, but keep the printed side away from direct sun.
  • Sindoor: shake off the dry powder first, don't rub it in. Then soak in cold water with detergent.
  • Curry and oil: dab a little dishwashing liquid on the spot, leave it for ten minutes, then wash.
  • Cha: cold water right away, then a normal wash.

If the size doesn't fit

It happens. You can request a return or exchange within 7 days of delivery, as long as the t-shirt is unused, unwashed and undamaged. Email us or WhatsApp with your order details, and we'll arrange it. A small return or exchange charge applies, and every t-shirt is printed on demand, so a new size takes the usual delivery time.

Quick answers

Do the t-shirts shrink? They're pre-shrunk, so there should be very little change if you wash them in cold water.

What's the most common size people order? M and L for adults, but that tells you nothing about your own size. Measure.

Is the fit the same across all designs? Regular fit designs follow the same chart. Oversized and full sleeve designs have their own cut, so check the product page.
